Well, we're finally getting up online, and we hope to have a real-life big boy site up and running very soon. There is an excellent chance that this site will be at www.riggsfulmer.com, but don't quote me on that just yet.
So, what can you find here in The Purple World? Every RFN will be published here as well as being sent to you, allowing you easy access to past articles. There will also be more detailed commentary on the events themselves, plus a bit of rambling. This will not become my personal twitter feed or anything like that. In fact, I am developing a personal blog that will contain my poetry, prose, songs, and drunken rants on extra-vinous subjects, and if you're a glutton for punishment you'll be able to get there from here. But for those of you who wish to remain centered on the local drinky scene, The Purple World is the right place.
This is the beginning of my greater scheme to be, as I said in RFN #1, your fly on the wall of the local beer, wine, and food scene. I will give you virtual access to the hottest trade-only events, the best place to find and try the newest arrivals, as well as coverage of other things germane to the scene: restaurant reviews, scuttlebut, etc, and maybe the occasional praise-singing for a lovely bartender or two. Eventually this will grow into an interactive tasting note database, in which you can search by varietal, price, or country of origin, allowing even greater ease of informational access.
I'm here for you, my friends! As Liquid Ambassador to the greater Oregon Rainforest, I will deliver the most accurate, reliable, descriptive reporting on our organoleptic scene to be found anywhere- bar none. Raise a toast to the lengthening days, and to the lights of The Purple World!
